2012 March Campaign Participation Requirements

To participate in the March Campaign, the food shelf agrees to:

  • Commit to using your Minnesota FoodShare allocation check for food purchases only.
  • Be a member food shelf in good standing with your regional Feeding America/Second Harvest food bank.
  • Be accessible to all people in need within a designated service area regardless of race, color, gender, religion, disability, or national origin.
  • Have non-profit tax-exempt status with the IRS. Minnesota FoodShare needs a new copy of your 501(c)(3) letter each year.
  • Agree to monitoring requirements of your Feeding America/Second Harvest food bank.
  • Meet the sanitation and storage requirements of your Feeding America/Second Harvest food bank.
  • Not charge for or barter food.
  • Provide a minimum of two-day supply of food(3 meals per day/per person) to clients with each food order.
  • Keep monthly statistics on the number of children, adults and seniors served and the pounds distributed, and report these statistics monthly to your Feeding America/Second Harvest food bank. An individual cannot be counted as having received service unless they have received at least a two-day supply.
  • Actively participate in the March Campaign by engaging local faith communities, businesses, civic groups, schools, individuals, and media to raise food and dollars for the food shelf.
  • Weigh all food and count all dollars donated to your food shelf during the March Campaign.
  • Report all food and dollars donated to your food shelf during the March Campaign weekly by using the Food Shelf Reporting Form. Complete reporting instructions will be mailed to your food shelf.

Your Minnesota FoodShare allocation check will be mailed directly to your food shelf. Keep receipts of food purchases made with Minnesota FoodShare allocation funds. You are subject to auditing by Minnesota FoodShare or Minnesota FoodShare funders.

By selecting submit you are agreeing to the Food Shelf Agreement as stated above.
